TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA, naturally pressed sesame oil

From Kuki Company

sesame flower TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA, naturally pressed sesame oil made from un-toasted white sesame seeds, comes from the more than 100 year old Kuki Company. In 1886 Kuki Company was the first in Japan to introduce the technique of producing sesame oil by pressing seeds without the use of chemicals or additives.

TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA has a clear appearance and refined fragrance. The oil has a pure, clean taste, which is enlivened by mellow nuttiness and sweetness from high quality white sesame seeds. TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA bears no resemblance in flavor, aroma and color to mass-produced, overly toasted, harshly flavored, brown-colored sesame oil.

Since the dawn of Japanese history sesame oil has been an important staple in the country. Sesame plant grows about 6 feet tall and bears tiny white, church bell-shaped flowers. The seeds are harvested in autumn. Kuki Company uses carefully selected, organic white sesame seeds, imported from Africa and South America. The production of TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA begins with rinsing, drying and removing unwanted materials from among the seeds.

Seeds are then transferred into a pressing machine and left to be pressed for some time. In this natural method, twenty pounds of sesame seeds produce about 8 pounds of pure sesame oil. Following pressing free fatty acids, coloring elements and other impurities and undesired aromas are removed using natural methods without the use of chemicals. The finest quality sesame oil is then bottled.

TAIHAKU JUNSEI GOMA ABURA's sesame oil has a mild flavor with slight nuttiness, clear color and a minimum smoke point of 446°F degree making this oil ideal for use in varied preparations in both a Japanese and American kitchen. Sautéing, marinating, stir frying and deep frying are all excellent uses of this high quality product. It is ideal for use in dressings were both its flavor and lack of color are important.
