Simmered Mackerel with Grated Daikon

  • 1 FIllet mackerel
  • 1/4 cup of grated Daikon
  • A
  • 2 tsps soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sake
  • 1 tsp Mirin
  • 1/2 tsp ginger juice
  • Startch Powder
  • Frying oil
  • B
  • 2/5 U.S. cup dashi stock
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sake
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Scallions and Mitsuba leaves
  1. Cut the mackerel fillet into thin slices. Add the mixture of A, rub and marinate for 20-30min. Paper dry each pieces, dust with corn starch powder, and deep fry them in 340 F oil until outside gets crispy and light brown.
  2. Rinse Mitsuba and chives. Cut them into small pieces.
  3. Put the ingredients listed in B into a pot and bring it to boil. Put in the grated Daikon and the friend mackerel.
  4. Arrange the fish in a shallow serving dish and sprinkle over the chives and mitsuba.
